This lovely Rosina teacup and saucer set is a fine example of bone china, made in England. It is decorated in cheerful violet, purple flowers with foliage and a hint of mustard on a clean white porcelain ground. The cup is decorated front and back and inside the bowl. Both pieces are scalloped and generously trimmed in gold. The set is beautiful.
The tea cup measure 3 1/4" across the bowl and 4" to the handle and 2 1/2" tall.
The saucer is 5 1/2" in diameter.
The cup and saucer are marked with the Rosina crown over roses and the number 5093. Rosina China Co Ltd. Manufacturers of bone china at Queens Pottery, Longton. 1941-. This mark was used circa 1952.
The set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or discoloration. There is no gold loss and the only sign of what might be wear is a bit of speckling on one of the leaves which is visible in the pictures.
This charming set would be a beautiful gift for Mother's Day, bridal shower, or a spring tea.
It would also be appreciated by any collector of vintage teacups and china.
