R.S. Germany (Reinhold Schlegelmilch) Art Deco German Porcelain Sugar Creamer Set 18K Gold Trim. This lovely 1920's Art Deco German porcelain cream and sugar set has a beautiful floral design on both sides of delicate soft white/pink peonies with multi-hued green stems and leaves over a taupe overall color scheme, with gold embossed band and accents. The intricate gold Art Deco style details on the handles and the gentle shading on the matte surface is wonderful.
• Creamer: 2.75" tall X 5" (handle to spout)
• Sugar: 3.75" tall (to top of lid handle) X 5.75" (handle to handle)
• Both are 3.75 diameter for belly portion, not including handles or spout
These pieces are in beautiful condition. No chips, no cracks, no repairs, no crazing. I see no gold loss at all.
There are a couple of pin holes and speckles. There is a small mark of the gold trim paint on the creamer.
The pieces may have been made that way. I have documented these in the photos.
The pieces have the R. S. Germany wreath and star mark in blue and Reinhold Schlegelmilch Tillowitz Germany signature stamp, from the Edwardian / Art Nouveau era. RS Germany is part of the wording in marks used by the Tillowitz, Germany, factory of Reinhold Schlegelmilch from 1914 until about 1945. The porcelain was sold decorated and undecorated. The Schlegelmilch families made porcelains marked in many ways. RS Germany was printed in red, orange, green, and blue.
This is a unique find: beautiful and in beautiful condition.
A nice gift for a collector of RS Germany or any lover of vintage items.
