Unique Porcelain Hot Chocolate/Cider pitcher with 6 handled mugs by Warwick China Company in Wheeling , West Virginia which operated 1881 to 1957. I assume this antique set is dated from 1900 to 1915 due to its IOGA stamping along with Warwick China mark. The company motto was Quality First, and no expense was spared to give customers the best and newest items that skill and experience could produce.
Warwick China Company, in Wheeling, West Virginia, specialized in glazed pieces with the most intriguing of all the Warwick lines being the gorgeous line of light pink, honey gold to brown & gray ground glazed ladies portrait pieces, which individually were of outstanding quality with wonderful colors and portrait definition. There is a romantic legend that the beautiful female subjects were in reality selected "Ladies of the Evening", from the local brothels in Wheeling.

This set is very old and shows speckling, some staining and one mug has a crack with a small chip. I think the set was used by my great-grandparents and is in beautiful shape for its age. The pitcher is 10 1/2" tall by 8" wide and the 6 mugs are 4 1/4" tall and 4" across including the handle. Please examine the pictures, I have included a picture of the mug with the most use and crack.

In researching this piece, I did not find any others. The sets typically contain Indians, Monks and fraternal emblems. The women's portraits are usually found on vases. The ladies on the hot chocolate set is a very unique find.
