SAJI Japan Foil label marked EW-683B, Rare Discontinued Pattern: Sweet Violet by Saji
SAJI Trading Company Ltd. were importers and wholesalers of Japanese porcelain. During World War II the company’s properties were confiscated and ultimately closed. During the occupation of Japan the country tried, with great success, to re-establish the imports of their china pieces to the United States. This piece from occupied Japan dates from the 1940s-50s.
The set is in beautiful condition. There are no cracks, chips, scratches or crazing. In the pictures you can see some rubbing of the transfer on the cup and a pinprick on the plate.
An absolutely lovely set-perfect for any collector of fine china or lover of violets.
