The small celery/ pickle/relish dish has scrolled and molded sides with hand painted violets on the inside bottom. The violets are in shades of purple with green leaves and gold embellishment. The molded rims are splashed with a mossy teal color with a pink hue and open handles. Dimensions are 9 1/4" by 4" and 1 1/2" tall.
It is marked with the green wreath mark with "R.S. Prussia" in red letters. Founded by Reinhold Schlegelmilch in what is now Suhl, Germany, R.S. Prussia produced ornate and floral porcelain objects for export beginning in the late 1800s. The mark dates this piece between 1892-1910
This dish is absolutely perfect-no cracks, marks, discolorations, just lovely. It will be appreciated by a collector of violets or of RS Prussia or anyone who loves beautiful things.
