This is a beautiful mustard colored antique confit pot from France which was used at one time to store meat
underground to preserve it. We found this treasure at the fair in Avignon on a recent trip. It is 8 1/2" high, 8 1/4" from ear to ear, has a 5 1/2" top diameter and a 3 1/2" diameter base. The circumference around the pot is about 24" and it weighs 5 pounds. It is very good shape with handles intact and great patina with some chipping on the surface commensurate with its age and usage.
Confit pots have become striking decorative items for any home and can be used in many different ways.
