This is an vintage French Cheese mold/strainer used by the French people to make their delicious soft cheeses. Cheesecloth would be also used to aid in this process. This particular one comes from the early 1900's and is in good shape with some great patina. It does have 2 hairline cracks in the side that do not affect the usage or beauty of the item. It is 3 3/4" in height and has a 7" diameter on top and a 5 1/2 " diameter on the bottom and weighs about 2 1/2 pounds.
It still can be used for cheese purposes but most people would use this as a decorative piece within the home as evidenced by our pictures. Purchased by us at a market in the South of France in September.
