Olle Alberius became a designer for Orrefors Glass in 1971. He had designed glass in more techniques and styles than any of his peers and was quite an accomplished designer. When he worked his designs using the Graal glass technique, he created subtile Kraka-like latticed designs that reflected the earlier work of Edward Hald from the early 1940’s. He often used shades of transparent blue in his thick-walled designs, of which, this vase is a classic example. It’s a triumph of modern, classic design!
This vase is signed: “ORREFORS GRAAL A 516-77 OLLE ALBERIUS”. It’s in excellent, as made condition with no damage. There are a few shelf-wear scratches on the very bottom as shown. It does have some very small bubbles near the rim. The modern, elegant style commands attention and will look beautiful in your display.
