A rare, very early Hermann teddy bear from about 1910 (One of the first Hermann bears which Johann Hermann manufactured.) With large shoe button eyes, chubby face and body, and a wonderful expression. See page 55 in Ken Yenke's Teddy Bear Treasury for two early examples, one at the top of the page, and the one standing in the lower photo. This bear is 13" tall, made of champagne beige mohair (possibly originally white), with dark brown nose and mouth stitching, and 5 claw stitching on paw pads. He retains the original felt paw and foot pads with no repairs, and just tiny nibbles in the felt. He still has very good form, the straw stuffing is mostly firm.
He is available on lay away with $400. down and monthly payments. Please let me know before purchasing if you choose this option.
