A rare, very early American bear from 1907. He is charming and unique. This darling 12" bear has 5 working joints, and its original paw pads, original boot button eyes, and is wearing a little blue check romper that is very old and fits him well. His romper has been cleaned, and is in very nice condition for its age. It covers most of his body, which has lost most of the mohair. (His head seems to have retained more of its mohair fur, but also seems to have lighter color fur (possible sun fading). The little bear shows love and care, as well as lots of play. If only, he could talk! One can just imagine the fun and companionship he has provided through his many years (113 years old).
He has a long cone-shaped nose and head with the ears placed to the sides of the head (very human-like).
On page 51 of Ken Yenke's Teddy Bear Treasury, volume 1, he shows a near mint Hahn & Amberg bear, valued in 2003 at $2000.
This sweet little 12" much loved bear is priced considerably less. Here is your chance to add a very rare, charming little American bear to your collection.
I will do a lay away on this bear; just contact me prior to purchasing to arrange terms.
