A very sweet 30" Heinrich Handwerck 109 child doll circa 1900, the size of an actual little girl! This lovely child doll has big brown glass sleep eyes that open and close well, her original Handwerck stamped wood and compo ball jointed body in very good condition with excellent stringing so that she can hold a pose. She is marked 109 15 DEP Germany Handwerck. She is dressed in her antique white lace trimmed dress with pink ribbon sash, matching slip and pantalettes (see photos), and her original blonde human hair wig. I have added a white bonnet with pink rosebud trim, and some pretty jewelry, a pink rhinestone ring for her finger, and real amethyst bead earrings for her little pierced ears, a silver color necklace with a medallion. Her shoes are vintage white leather high button boots with original long white wool stockings. (some little moth nibbles on the top of the stockings)
Her bisque is creamy, oily, smooth and beautiful with delicate artistic painting in her face. She has an open mouth that is coral red outlined in a slightly darker color and 4 teeth. Her eyebrows are raised, painted and feathered. Her eyes have delicately painted lashes
The cheeks are softly blushed. She looks as if she is going to speak to you.
Condition: Excellent overall! The bisque has been lighted and there are no hairlines, cracks, or restorations. It is creamy and smooth. The original wood and compo ball jointed body is in very nice condition with minimal age wear; it retains most of its original shine. The hands and feet have the red line details. All fingers and toes are there. Eyes work well; eyelid wax is present with some darkening. Her clothing is beautiful and original; her stringing is very good so she holds a pose. An exceptional, gorgeous doll!
