An incredible bear on wheels attributed to the French firm, Roullet et Decamps, circa 1880-90. It is made of paper mâché with wool over it. Each foot has a tiny iron wheel (that turns) attached. There is a pull growler that no longer works in the tummy (you can see the pull ring is in tact). He has taxidermy type glass eyes that are very realistic, his original leather harness, and an open mouth with teeth and a red tongue. He has a fierce expression, and nice form. There are some worn spots and thinning in the wool, but for his age, he is incredibly good. He still rolls along if pushed. The bear is about 12" long and 8" tall. He is very unique and rare. What a wonderful toy to go with your rare French dolls!
