A rare Bruin Manufacturing Company (BMC) 12" Jointed mohair teddy bear in excellent condition. It is off-white or light beige in color.
The squeaker in his torso sometimes works. He has original boot button eyes and brown nose and claw stitching (4 claws). The felt is still very good on his foot and paw pads, and his mohair is still about 90% there. He is clean and firmly stuffed, retaining his shape well. I cannot adequately express my amazement at the fine condition of this early bear! Please note the elongated muzzle, long legs, and hockey stick type crook to his arms. He also has a large hump to his back. If you see Ken Yenke's Teddy Bear Treasury, Vol 1 ppgs. 36 & 37, you will see a similar bear, Circa 1906-7. Also, see Ken Yenke's Vol 11, page 18.
This is a rare treasure.
