Charming accessory for a desk or sewing table. In the shape of a pig marked "sterling," with the tape on a reel inside its belly. The tape has a pull tab, and it is retracted by turning the tail. The tape is intact and clearly marked, but probably so fragile as to be for display only, and not for daily use. The body is in very fine condition, and so rare and unusual as to be the star of the show in a sewing collection. 2.125" Long by 1" Tall.
The plated version is shown on page 188 of "Zalkin's Handbook of Thimbles and Sewing Implements," (Zalkin, Estelle Warman Publishing. Inc. 1988). The price then for the plated version was 60-75$.
