Janice Lee Ripley hammered sterling earrings reminiscent of Southern Asian calligraphy and design, including semi precious stones in pale chartreuse at the post and a square mounted faceted bright green stone at the base. These are elegantly designed for a modern sophisticated woman in a sunny world. They are pierced post earrings, but the butterfly backing is missing. They are signed JLR 925 and are in excellent, beautiful condition. They measure 1-1/2" length.
Janice Lee Ripley created amazing jewelry woven from many inspirations and influences. She called it “jewelry based on myth,” and you can see the study of ancient languages and cultures knitted together in her work. Janice was based out of San Francisco, spending much of her time in Bali where she now lives. Each of her pieces combine high quality materials, meticulous attention to detail, and a beautiful sense of design. Her works are treasures you will wear for many years to come!
She no longer makes jewelry - which makes each unique piece very precious. Janice now composes in flowers. She does this in Ubud, Bali, where she has settled after some ten years of extended visits to the island where she worked with Bali's traditional silversmiths for her line of handmade jewelry. Janice is a New Yorker who holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Webster University and a master of fine arts degree from the San Francisco Art Institute.
