These earrings are from Napier's heyday of design in the 1950's. They are just fabulous. As the entry in Melinda Lewis's outstanding The Napier Co. book describes them, they are "die-cast, silver plated...large repousse with floral/foliate motif." (p. 291) In this era, Napier was known for their exquisite metalwork. "Often mistaken for sterling silver, this oxidized silver plated collection epitomizes the mastery of design by The Napier Co." (p. 220 in Lewis's book) These earrings are just excellent in every way. Beautiful repousse, beautiful and elegant design, superb condition. They measure 1-5/8" tall by 1-3/8" wide. The clips are secure, the condition superb. Each is marked NAPIER PAT PEND, with no copyright mark, so they are pre-1955.
