Beautiful brooch in blues by Oscar Charlin. Very little is known about Oscar Charlin, only that he manufactured jewelry in the 1950's and employed DeLizza & Elster to manufacture and design many of their pieces. This is clearly one of these items, featuring many of D&E's identifiable characteristics, including the special margarita stones, elongated marquis (navette) stones, which are unfoiled and in an open back setting, and classic design. It is 2-3/4" long by 1-5/8" wide. The condition is excellent, but upon close inspection with a loupe, it appears that one of the prongs on the tiny stone atop a margarita stone is a little bent, and that the stone that it is holding was most likely replaced at one time. I have priced the brooch with that in consideration. All of the magnificent larger stones are in perfect condition. The colors and the brooch are much prettier in person!
