What a find! Christian Dior by Kramer classic and beautiful bracelet. Beautifully faceted crystals in a silver tone setting. The larger stones are prong set, and along the length’s edges, we have smaller stones spaced apart, which add immeasurably to the design. Simple and classic elegance, superb quality. Take a look at the back, how well constructed the bracelet is. The bracelet is marked Christian Dior by Kramer, and the back of the push-in clasp (on top of which the design continues) is marked Kramer of NY. There is an original safety chain. With a loupe, one can see that the stones have a small amount of graying; with my naked eye and with my reading glasses up close, I do not notice the gray, only with the loupe. – This piece is over 60 years old afterall, and on, it looks glorious! It is 7” long , and the width is ½” including the small stones that border the larger ones. The larger stones are ¼”.There is no copyright symbol, so this bracelet would be pre-1955. In the 1950s and '60s, Kramer was tapped to produce this costume jewelry for Christian Dior—those pieces are marked "Christian Dior by Kramer," “Dior by Kramer,” or “Kramer for Dior.” Kramer's ornate Dior pieces, with their cascading Swarovski pastes, and baroque faux pearls, built upon the company's obsession with craftsmanship and organic, romantic design, achieving a high level of elegance and sophistication in the process. But the collaboration with Dior, however fruitful, was not enough to keep Kramer from closing its doors in the 1970s.
