Beautiful bracelet made by difficult to find designer Oscar Charlin. This is a solid, well-made bracelet. The scroll design is carefully soldered onto the bracelet. It weighs 2.8 oz (77 grams) and is a fantastic size - 1 3/8" height. Inside dimension is 2 1/4", but as you can see in the photos, it is hinged and opens up completely. It actually has 2 hinges connecting the three sections. The slide in clasp is functional; it stays shut, but does not snap. Also, where the clasp closes, the bracelet is not perfectly aligned - again please see photos for this minor imperfection. I am not certain as to the metal used, there is no smell as is usually found in copper or brass. It is a rich, deep golden color with a lovely patina. The bracelet is gorgeous and rich looking, and so well constructed and designed. Very little is known about Oscar Charlin, only that he manufactured jewelry in the 1950's and employed DeLizza & Elster to manufacture and design a lot of their pieces. It is unusual to chance upon a Charlin item, here's your chance! Marked OSCAR CHARLIN on a plaque inside the bracelet. There is no copyright symbol, so I would date this to the early 1950's.
