Gorgeous Pennino earrings with everything you would hope for and expect from this classic designer. These clip on earrings feature a flower and leaf design in a rhodium setting. The flower has dark blue crystal petals, with a central clear stone. One leaf on each earring is pave set with clear stones, and the other has beautiful clear baguette stones lined up on each side of a stem. Wonderful contrast between the leaves, what a thoughtful design! The earrings are in great condition, clips tight, all stones present and lovely. They measure 1" tall by 7/8" wide. They are marked Pennino and also Pat 156452, which is a patent for the ear clips from 1949.
The Pennino Brothers used only the highest quality stones and materials, and their workmanship is always superb. Pennino jewelry first began in 1908, but the brothers formally began the Pennino Brothers company in 1926, in New York. Their factory was located on East 49th St. and sales office on 47th Street. Otto was the jewelry designer, with Frank the jeweler and master craftsman. Jack was the salesman and handled all relationships with their major accounts with many high end department and jewelry stores. They closed their business in 1966 due to ailing health of the brothers. At that time, they destroyed all of their jewelry molds, wishing their reputation to remain pure. Pennino jewelry is some of the finest costume jewelry made and is extremely collectible.
