19th Century New England Sugar Firkin for your consideration. The bucket measures approx. 14 1/2 inches tall with handle, 10 inches tall without the handle. The widest diameter measures approx. 10 1/4 inches. Old brown painted wood slat firkin with four finger lapped bands; two at base, one at top and one around the lid. Pegged bent wood handle. Very good primitive condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Chip to the bottom of one slat. One side of bucket is missing a portion of brown paint. See photos. Displays splendid!
