EAPG Garfield Memorial Plate produced by Campbell, Jones and Company circa 1881. This wonderful plate was one of many items produced in response to President Garfield death. It is approximately 10 inches in diameter and has a wonderful stippled background with a wreath of laurel leaves beneath the words Memorial and the words PatD Applied for above President Garfield's head. There is table wear on the bottom along with scratching in the center as shown in the pictures. There is a small flat chip on the scalloped rim on the backside of the plate along with a rough mold edge. There is a straw mark near his head as shown in the pictures and also a couple of inclusion bubbles. The glass is crisp and clear and highly reflective of light. For being 131 years old, this plate deserves a place of honor.
