This Charlot Byj figurine known as Sleepy Head was produced by Goebel. This adorable porcelain figurine is of a boy yawning carrying his teddy bear and has one bunny rabbit slipper on and one off. This figurine was produced by Goebel from 1957 to 1982. The trademark on the bottom dates this piece from 1965 - 1972. There were couple of variations of this figurine including one with bright pink slippers. They say blonde hair in the books but it is more like a dirty blonde with light brown overtones and the teddy bear is gray with pink pads on his paws. It is approximately 5 inches tall and he has no nicks, chips, cracks or repairs, there is a light crazing to the piece but doesn't detract from his cuteness. On the bottom is the Goebel trademark 4 also known as three line trademark, then 1957 for when the mold was first used and Byj 11 meaning the 11th piece in the collection. This piece was sculpted by Arthur Moeller who worked for almost 50 years with the Goebel Porcelain factory.
