This ashtray made by Wedgwood was commissioned by the Thomas Long Company as a salute to The Last Of The Great Whalers (a.k.a. the Charles W. Morgan Ship from Mystic Connecticut) and was produced between the late 1950s – 1960s. This ashtray has a wonderful raised floral and scroll design and a green transferware of the Charles W. Morgan in the center. It is approximately 4.25 inches in diameter and .75 of an inch tall, with no nicks, chips or cracks, but there is small spot of discoloring under the glaze, and on the back where the bottom meets the Table. Due to the design, this also would make a great trinket dish.
