Duncan Glass produced this exquisite Early American Pattern Glass ice tub in the pattern know as #24 a.k.a. Quartered block with Diamonds and is also known as Panelled Diamond Blocks circa 1894. This pattern was designed to look like Cut glass and Duncan glass did very well with this task as it has a high brilliance to its pieces that you usually see in cut glass. This ice tub is approximately 5.75 inches tall at the highest point and 6.37 inches in diameter at the top and has the usually ray bottom for this pattern. This piece does have a flat chip on the inside handle and the usual expected fleabites, straw marks, and inclusion bubbles for a piece of this time period. The glass is clean and free of any sickness and looks to have had little to no use on the inside of the piece. Being over a century old, and the condition this piece is in, I would say it was probably a cabinet piece. It is not too often that the ice tub comes around, and in this condition I would say ever rarer.
