This large compote (comport) in the pattern known as Floral Oval a.k.a. Banner was first produced by Higbee glass circa 1910 then by New Martinsville circa 1918. It is approximately 6.75 inches tall and does have a small nick on one of the mold lines and another mold line is rough and some light scratching in a few areas. It also has some manufacturer's defects where it looks like something touched the hot glass as shown in the pictures along with a couple of inclusion bubbles. Even so the glass is very bright and highly reflective of light. This is very pretty piece that is not a common pattern.
