Duncan & Sons produced this silver colored rim sugar bowl in the pattern known as Number 40 a.k.a. Bassettown circa 1891 – 1894. This piece is approximately 2 7/8 inches tall and 2.75 inches in diameter and is in good condition with no nicks, chips or cracks to the glass. The silver colored ring does have some dings, scratching and a little rip on the bottom of the ring, but none of it takes away from the beauty of this sugar bowl as your eye is drawn to the glass and not the ring on top. We are not sure if this is real sterling silver or not as there are no markings. But when we cleaned it up, the dings in the silver remained silver in color. This is a unique find for the Duncan & Son EAPG collector.
