Early 1930s to1940's sterling silver 925 bracelet with carved onyx faces. Very Pre Columbian looking There are a lot of face bracelets around this one is a rare piece, I have had it in my collection over 30 years.
The detailing is authentic and big and chunky
The weight is 96 grams , each panel 5 in all held together with 5 silver rings, hence looking like a whip stitch.
You can clearly see that each face is hand carved with a silver drop that has been anchored in the back of bracelet.
There is a rod clasp, long rod that securely slips into the barrel and holds securely.
Marked silver Mexico on backside.
All this needs is a bit of silver polish to bring it back to a new lustre, I prefer to leave it alone showing just how old it is. Very Pre Columbian Looking Condition is excellent. There is one place where the silver has a tiny bump, looks like when they set the pin in the catch it dripped a bit. This is at the inside of bracelet and does not show when worn.
7 3/4 inches long 1 3/4 inches wide.
Marked sterling Mexico
