Joseff of Hollywood 1935 producing fabulous jewelry originals that were rented or leased out to the movie industry. Labeled " Jeweler to the Silver Screen". His beautiful stones came from Austria and Czechoslovakia, along with porcelains, in 1938 Joseff started producing pieces of jewelry that was copied from the originals that were leased to the movie companies, these were sold to the finer department store boutiques and up for grabs by his loyal customers that had seen these pieces in the movie houses. This piece is from the late 30s and in excellent condition. The brooch is rare and very hard to find Huge topaz stones with hanging fringe. The brooch is set with huge pear shaped multi faceted glass stones, there is fleur de lis filigree around entire brooch, this is such a statement piece,the workmanship is astounding! The brooch measures 3 inches and another 3 inches in fringe, so 6 inches, all open back stones , to let light bounce off the stones. A deep patina has set in over the years, it is a very beautiful Russian gold color.
