Joseff of Hollywood 1935 producing fabulous jewelry originals that were rented or leased out to the movie industry. Labeled " Jeweler to the Silver Screen". His beautiful stones came from Austria and Czechoslovakia, along with porcelains, in 1938 Joseff started producing pieces of jewelry that was copied from the originals that were leased to the movie companies, these were sold to the finer department store boutiques and up for grabs by his loyal customers that had seen these pieces in the movie houses. This piece is from the late 30s and in excellent condition. The brooch is rare and very hard to find. Hand painted portrait , center piece with beautiful filigree and rhinestones circling the brooch, a deep gold from the years has put a gorgeous patina on the piece. The brooch measures 2 1/2 inches in circumference, it has a truly beautiful bale on the backside for wearing it as an enhancer to a necklace.
I have worn this on a single strand of pearls to make a very dramatic necklace.
Brooch is marked Joseff in script on the back.
A REAL COLLECTOR PIECE THAT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT.
Background colors are soft blues, taupe, lilac , peach
