This is a 19th Century exquisite handmade antique porcelain gourd-shape bottle, likely made in Japan under Chinese influence. Displays beautifully.

On it, one verse from a poem is written, which means "the way that numerous streams flows into the sea, is how the nations admire your fine virtues". This is taken from a poem written by Du Fu (712 – 770), a famous Tang Dynasty poet from ancient China.

Other auspicious patterns are also painted, including vivid dragons, sea waves, flowers, and Buddhist symbols. Likely to be a valuable gift for a friend.

Perfect condition. Measures 23 cm tall.
