Beautiful antique blue and white porcelain plate from Qing Dynasty (18th Century) (清康熙青花缠枝莲盘). Artistic and classy addition to porcelain collection or as a home decor; extraordinary gift or present for a friend.
Size (diameter * height): 14.4 cm * 4.2 cm
Meaning: Lotus is a symbolic plant in Buddhism, both Tibetan and Chinese. It represents purity and holiness, as it is said that lotus flowers grow from where Buddha himself has walked. There is a Chinese seal at the bottom of the plate with a character that I do not recognize - maybe it symbolizes the artist's surname or an auspicious meaning - it would be interesting to find out.
Workmanship: incredible skill and sense of beauty. The plate's hand-drawn patterns are amazingly well preserved. Just looking at it gives you a sense of immense joy and peace.
Condition: a few minor places where repair took place, as shown in the pictures. This is inevitable as this piece is 300 to 400 years old. Otherwise, an overall beautiful ancient Chinese porcelain collection for your home.
