An antique heavy brass coffer box decorated with lilies, fleurs de lys, and scrollwork in the Art Nouveau style in relief; it is finely finished and better than the average antique brass box. There is a locking mechanism but we do not have a key. This piece is unmarked; however, based on the decoration and quality of work we feel it is likely French and dates to the late 19th century.
The patina on this piece is wonderful; the only issue we note is a small spot of discolouration near the front right corner of the top (clearly visible in the first photo), and there is uneven patina underneath the box.
Dimensions: 4 1/4” h. (With handle laying down) x 9” w. x 6 1/4” d.
