A Seldom Found Antique Wooden Grodnertal - All Originally Clothed as a Nun

Here for buying pleasure is a FASCINATING ALL ORIGINAL PIN CUSHION WOODEN DOLL CLOTHED AS A NUN! I have collected antique dolls for over 45 years. And antique pin cushions of all types were one of my interests. The pin cushion I'm offering today is the only example I have ever found in those 45 years! She is wonderful! I dislike having to part with her but such is life for me now. The wooden doll is circa 1830's.

She measures 5-1/4 inches in height. Her face is painted with black eyebrows, black eyes and a little red mouth. When photographing her, I gently folded back her cornette hat and found her little face has a tiny area where paint is missing on her temple, yet the gesso is still intact. I had never noticed this before because the wimple covers her hair and her cornette hat always covers her face when displayed. I felt I needed to mention this for accuracy. She has wooden arms.

Her original clothing is all linen. Her clothing consists of her black habit, her wimple covering her hair, her winged hat known as a cornette and her apron known as a scapular. At her waist she wears a beaded chaplet. The necklace and crucifix at her neck are sewn on with a thick black thread.

She is a rare, wonderful and an unusual wooden to find dressed in this type of clothing. I have loved her within my own collection and I, with high hopes, wish that whoever buys her will love her as I have!
