This is a beautiful Early American Pattern Glass cake basket or cake pedestal in clear glass. The pattern is Mascotte, also known as Dominion, Minor Block, and Waffle. Made by Riply Glass Co. in 1880, and also made by Dominion Glass Co. Ontario, Canada in 1902 and thus the pattern name is also referred to as Dominion.
This lovely piece has a 1 1/2” deep “basket” atop a fluted pedestal with a 4 5/8” across simple foot/base. The basket measures 9.5” across, 6” height. This basket has a folding metal handle. Immaculate condition with no chips, cracks or other damage. There are a few areas with small air bubbles & a few tiny dark spots of foreign material. Great when used as a pedestal for display.
A rare and special piece of Early American Pressed Glass — pretty & very practical.
Please be aware that the USPS continues to have substantial delivery delays which they attribute to Covid issues and catching up from the holiday volume. 1st Class Mail for smaller items is taking several days--week+ and even items sent via Priority Mail (2-3 day delivery) are taking more than a week to arrive at their destinations, in many cases. Please understand that I have absolutely no control over the delivery of your package once it leaves my possession.
If you need your item quickly, I can upgrade to Priority Express or UPS delivery.
