Bing and Grondahl started the Easter plate series in 1910 and continued it until 1935. The plates are concave and measure 7 3/8”. Each plate has a border with a crown of thorns, the year and PAASKEN, which is Danish for Easter.
This first year of the series is titled “Mary Magdalene by the Grave” and was designed by Jens Peter Dahl Jensen. The back is marked with the Bing and Grondahl trademark. The plate is beautifully done and in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing. Please see 1911 Easter plate I have also listed. There is no box.
