Only 375 copies of this gorgeous plate were made. It was commissioned by the Copenhagen Rifle Corps to commemorate their fiftieth anniversary. The inscription “Vaer Ovet Til Daad Naar Luren Kalder” translates “Be Prepared To Fight When The Lure Is Sounded.” 1862 – 1912 K + S is at the bottom. K.S. stands for The Copenhagen Rifle Corps. The plate is 7 ¾” across and has the Royal Copenhagen trademark Crown with the 3 wavy blue lines on the back, along with the numbers 1312 and 137. The plate was designed by Bent Helweg-Moller and is listed in the 2004 Lars Christoffersen book from $200 to $300. There is the usual slight roughness to the edges but no chips, cracks or repairs. The colors are wonderful and this rare plate would make another great addition to a collection.
