The two layers of Bakelite are connected with brass fittings, forming the four feet on the corners. These can be unscrewed to disassemble the board, which I will not attempt. The board weighs 2 lbs. 7 oz., and measures approximately 1" long, 4" wide and 1 ¾" tall. There are no pegs, but I will send along some old brass ones that I have. The Bakelite has some scrapes and very minor chips on the edges. The brass cribbage board needs a professional polishing. Because of the lighting this does not show in the pictures, but it definitely needs professional polishing. Bakelite was patented by Mr. Leo Baekeland in 1909 and used extensively for many products and in both World Wars.
