Rare Game Counting Board
This wooden board was patented Nov. 17, 1878. On one side there is a 2 track cribbage board and holes to keep score of number of games won up to nine. The corners are decorated with the symbols of the four suits in a deck of cards. The other side has holes for scoring whist, casino, all-fours and euchre. There is an oval in the top right section with the patent information – please see pictures. The board measures approximately 7 ¼" by 3 ¼" and was patented by H.B. Dennison & Co. Novelty Works. The only damage is a chip along one edge on the cribbage side and below the spade in the corner of the other side. These are very minor in a wooden board of this age. There is a 2 ¼" long wooden peg that slides out on one end covering 5 peg storage holes. The board did not come with any pegs but I can supply metal ones that fit very well and even fit in the storage holes.
