A rare and unusual door knocker produced by Archibald Kenrick & Sons in the second half of the 19th century modelled as a bat. This example is approx. 9 ½” long and crisply moulded in good original condition. The spring on the letter box is good and still tight. The item is fully marked to the rear with Kernrick’s name and the model no. 422. There is also the diamond registration mark for 1st April 1883. The original fittings are still attached. These door knockers were supplied to the Kenrick employees and were used to identify their homes located around the factory.
