A superb quality antique, circa 1900 A.D. Finnish knife ‘Puukko’, the traditional Finnish Lapland reindeer herder's Sami knife, the handle and scabbard of polished reindeer bone, the Scrimshaw scabbard comprised of a two shaped bone – scales held together with two copper pins, carved on the exterior with a small sheath for the companion knife, adorned in openwork with traditional Finish folk designs, the top mounted with brown leather incised with geometrical pattern and with suspension chain with the hook. The blade is constructed from very fine steel with a razor sharp edge and a slightly upwards curving point.
CONDITION: In good condition showing the age and usage, with an old glossy patina, grip with minor age crack, companion knife missing.
