A rare large antique Chinese superb quality two-handled pottery Amphora from the early Neolithic Period Yangshao culture dated from around 4000 BC to 3000 BC. Well potted in a compressed globular form tapering sharply to a narrow foot with a waisted neck rising to an averted rim. Painted around the shoulder in its original black pigment with a very rare fishing net pattern which is characteristic for the early Neolithic Period of Yangshao culture.
CONDITION: Very good overall condition with a minor chip on the rim of the neck, no cracks, repairs, or restorations.
