This is an exceptional French Georgian/ Napoleonic period miniature portrait; incredible detailed and perfection, it depicts a young who is hanging a mask in one hand, and a Pan flute in the other: in his/her head a laurel wreath, and the portrayed is dressing a Greek peplum with himation in white and red respectively. This is not visible signed. The painting is under glass; the glass is solid and slightly convex.
Important wood and brass frame crowned by an exquisitely chiseled lyre in bronze. Back, a lid made of embossed and gilded leather representing a wild scene with grasslands and birds. This lid can be removed which allows to appreciate the transparency of the pictorial support
Based on the fashion of the portrayed and characteristics of the frame it is possible to date it in the end of the XVIII century or mostly possible first part of XIX century (Georgian period).
