This is an original master engraving about a drawing of Annibale Carracci engraving and print by Simon Guillain after Carracci.
From the series Le Arti di Bologna or The cries of Bologna (The occupations of the Bolognese), etching, Italy, first published 1646. (The cries of Bologna was a collection of drawings by Annibale Carracci depicting the street vendors and street artisans of the painter's hometown. Annibale's original drawings have been almost completely lost, the collection is known thanks to the engravings that were drawn from it, printed for the first time in a volume published in 1646)
This etching depicting a street seller, called "Inchiostro fino" and numbered "38". This plate was a part of lot of three I am offering; all of them, part of a compilation called “The cries of Bologna”. In each one, them showed a representative range of a kinds of street sellers. All these engraving were hand colored with inks.
Printed in laid paper, show a watermark with a fleur-de-lis in a circle, and a “B” outside it. Numbered, and with the description of the character. This one is signed ACB Please check my similar items
