A wonderful piece of period English furniture dating from early in the 18th Century. This table has a charming base with a single drawer and baluster turned legs. The top has two drop-leaves that are supported with pivoting gate legs. This old survivor has a nice color and patina, which exudes plenty of age character.
Condition: The table is in good condition. There is old damage to some of the hinges, which look to be original based on the 18th Century nails that remain. This damage, small cracks in the wood at the hinge caused by shrinkage and use over the many years, has been mitigated through the use of screws and washers to hold the hinges in place. The blocks of the legs have likely been restored at some point in its history. There are other minor nicks, dents, dings, scratches, and cracks that one would expect to find on a 300 year old piece of well used furniture.
Dimensions: 30"H x 47.5"D with leaves up.
