Circa 1770 - A truly stunning mahogany tea table. Absolutely gorgeous color and patina--sure to make a striking impression. This 18th Century tilt top tea table is a stunning piece. Its many years on Earth have blessed it with a fantastic color and graining. The top is constructed of one piece of solid mahogany and has a raised edge that only adds to its charm. It has a metal latch, likely its original, and sits on a mahogany baluster that terminates into three Georgian snake head feet. The appropriately dovetailed legs are capped with an 18th Century iron plate. All told, this is a breathtaking piece of history that can be yours today!
Condition: The table is in very good condition. There is a very old slight crack to the interior of the table top (photographed). It is stable and actually adds to the piece's character. One of the legs has a repaired crack near the dovetail and there is a corresponding missing nail from the bottom of the iron plate at this location. Like any piece of furniture of this age, there are various other minor nicks, dings, and imperfections.
