Stunningly beautiful and rare winged lion server by Shiebler. Solid Silver Aesthetic Period treasure with a fluted bowl and winged "S" hallmark on the back. It is a joy to behold.
Expertly crafted by Shiebler & Company of New York, circa 1890, it is a perfectly wonderful example of American Aesthetic Period silver.
The centerpiece is the winged lion. The bowl of the spoon has a gracefully scalloped edge and fluted shape. The handle is beautifully done in a pierced scroll motif. It bears the Shiebler hallmark and "sterling" on the back, weighs 48 grams and measures 5" in length. It is an especially amazing find because it has never been engraved or monogrammed or repaired. It is in pristine condition. A prize for any serious collector.
