Ever since people figured out drinking alcohol was fun, they invented drinking games. In the 1500's young maiden cups or Jungfrauenbecher, appeared at parties. These are cups where the skirt is turned upside down and filled with spirits and can't be put back down until emptied. The materials used to make the cups vary. The dress styles and features of the cups vary but most have a bell shaped skirt, and a pretty girl holding a swinging smaller cup on top.
This example by Reed and Barton is a bit over 3 inches and in perfect condition except for tarnish which can be polished away free (just ask) but there is not one dent or ding.
It would make a lovely gift or addition to your bar ware collection
