Description: Limited edition 392/400, Moorcroft vase designed by Philip Gibson c. 1999. The vase is in an ovoid shape with deep plum inside of the vase. The design features six hot air balloons floating lazily high above the earth. Each balloon is a different design and color from a lemon yellow to a cobalt blue, baby blue, orange and a deep purple. The years of the design is impressed on one of the balloons. The background is a beautiful gray with almost a hint of blue. Hand-made and hand-painted. Vibrant, brilliant colors.
Makers Mark: Moorcroft stamps the bottom with MOORCROFT, Made in England. The year the piece is made is denoted with a symbol. In addition, the symbol used In 1999 is a small jug which is next to the name of the pottery, Moorcroft, Made in England. The symbols denoting the years were first used starting in 1990. Also denoted is the Copyright year '98. The artists initials, PG, for Philip Gibson who began designing for Moorcroft in 1998.
