This one is, "To Die For", and has everything the avid Limoges collector could desire, two spectacular bouquets of beautifully painted ruby roses with the reticulated rim, handles and base just dripping with sparkling Roman gold! The background is painted in a pallet of subtle green and purple hues. The front and back are interchangeable on this one. The only difference is that one side has four roses and the other three. These are painted in the style and hue made famous by Chicago's White's Art Co. and Decorating Studio. The foliage is subtle and perfect on this one and it will be a star in any Limoges collection.
The Cachepot/Vase stands just over 11 inches tall and 8 inches across the beautifully gilded handles. It has an ovoid shape and a top opening that is 5 ½ inches wide and 3 ½ inches deep. The gilding is 99% intact with the only losses on the very top of the rim, making me wonder if it was ever there. It bears the Bernardaud & Co. underglaze factory mark 1 in green that dates the piece from 1900-1914.
Enjoy all of the pictures of this very special piece!
